SportsEngine Registration: Minnetonka Lacrosse Association

2018 Girls Youth Spring Lacrosse

Girls Youth Spring Lacrosse

Minnetonka Lacrosse is at the forefront of developing the girls youth players. We are proud to be part of the fastest-growing youth sport in America and intend to foster a love for the sport of lacrosse through fun drills and competitive play. All skill levels are accepted, beginners are encouraged!

We will have a parent meeting in mid to late February.  Emails will be sent out as the date is confirmed.

There are two seasons for girls lacrosse:
1. Spring (March-end of May) Tournament first week in June.
2. Summer (June-end of July) Tournament first week in August.
Players can sign up for one or both seasons.  We encourage participation in both seasons.

The MSSLAX competitive league we play in encompasses all girls' lax teams in the twin cities and surrounding area (e.g. Edina, Stillwater, Eden Prairie, Lakeville. etc.).

Mtka is planning on fielding one to two teams at each age level (10U, 12U and 14U). Once the first team threshold is met, a team will be added if registration numbers permit. Final team count will depend on participation, so sign up early to ensure your spot on the team.
New to 2018 we are adding developmental in house 8U team to practice fundamentals and play scrimmages.

Mtkalax serves the Mtka School District as stated in its mission. For this reason we give priority for roster spots to players who reside, or open-enroll, in the Mtka School District. We welcome players from outside the Minnetonka School District if space allows at the close of registration. Those players should email to be added to a "first come, first served" wait list.

Initial Indoor Practice Schedule*

• Tonka Dome:  Sat.  March 17th 8-10pm,   Sun. March 18th 12-2pm
• Hopkins Pavilion: Tuesdays 5-6pm March 6, 13, 20 & April 10, 17, 24
*Subject to change based on number of teams

Outdoor Schedule

Plan on 2-4 practices a week, weekday evenings and weekends. Games vary week to week and can be on any day of the week. They begin in April for Spring and early June for Summer.  All players are expected to attend both practices and games.

14U tryouts for the "A" level team: If necessary, two tryout sessions will be held in the Dome in March. An additional tryout fee of $25 will be assessed if you indicate you wish to tryout. Players trying out must attend both tryout sessions.  To tryout players must be registered for the league at the 14U level and have paid the additional tryout fee.  More tryout information will be shared at the parent meeting in February.

Registration fees are $225 per player for 10U and $275 for 12U & 14U.  An additional $30 fee will automatically be applied to spring league registrations to cover turf fees for the season. 8U in house program $150 plus $20 for pinnie.

If this is the first time that your child has played lacrosse for Minnetonka, you will need to purchase a uniform.  If your child has played for Minnetonka already and has a uniform/pinnie there is no need to buy a new uniform unless you need larger sizes. If your child only needs a new Jersey or Pantskirt or Pinnie then the a la carte prices will be $45 for the Jersey, $40 for the Pantskirt, and $20 for the Pinnie.

Mandatory US Lacrosse Membership

There is also an additional cost of $30 for the mandatory US Lacrosse membership (provides insurance coverage).  If you are able to contribute more than the league fee, donations will be accepted during the sign-up process. Please note, Minnetonka Lacrosse is a registered 501 (c) 3 organization and any contributions are deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.
