2020 Winter Dome Clinics

The Minnetonka Lacrosse Association (MLA) invites all boys’ lacrosse players to register for our annual series of Winter Clinics coming up on Saturdays in January 2020. Our Winter Clinics will be broken out into groups for beginner/intermediate, and intermediate/advanced lacrosse players from 1st to 8th grade.

DATES: January 11, 18, 25, and February 1, 2020.

TIMES:  4:30-5:30 p.m. for beginner/intermediate
             5:30-6:30 p.m. for intermediate/advanced

LOCATION: Tonka Dome

COST: $80 for four 60-minute sessions

For beginner and emerging-intermediate players (typically 8U, 10U, and new 12U players), these clinics offer an affordable (only $20 per hour!) opportunity to develop fundamental skills in advance of the box (February-April) and summer (May-July) lacrosse seasons and to discover how much fun lacrosse can be through game-style drills.

For developing-intermediate and advanced players (typically experienced 12U and all 14U players), these clinics provide a no-pressure way to refine fundamental skills while expanding their understanding of fundamental principles of play (“lax IQ”) with our experienced coaching staff.

EQUIPMENT: Players do not need to have full lacrosse equipment, but we do recommend that all players bring their own stick, along with a lacrosse or hockey helmet, gloves, and elbow pads. (Players who do not have some sort of helmet with a face mask will train with soft "pinky" lacrosse balls or tennis balls. Players who do not have pads can train in skills drills, but not in drills involving stick checking.)  All players should wear athletic shoes, turf shoes, or non-metal cleats.

GOALIES REGISTER FOR FREE! We encourage players to try out the goalie position during these clinic sessions. It's an easy, a no-pressure way to get introduced to the position and to develop fundamental goalie skills and positional knowledge. For new goalies, we will have goalie-specific equipment on hand, but all goalies must wear their own protective athletic cup.

Up until a program registration closes, the Minnetonka Lacrosse Association (MLA) will give consideration to written requests for withdrawal and refund. In all cases MLA will retain a 15% processing fee for incurred costs from the web provider registration service and administrative costs. After a program registration has closed, no refunds or cancellations will be given except in the case of injury or similar extenuating circumstances which prevents practice and game participation, and then only by approval of the Minnetonka Lacrosse Association Board of Directors.

No refunds will be given in the case where program sessions must be canceled due to weather, facilities cancelations or other situations beyond MLA’s control.
